While our primary mission is to preserve and promote the legacy of Nikola Tesla, the late great Serbian-American inventor, we also provide a network for other inventors, product designers, marketers, engineers and investors.
TESLA DAYS PHILADELPHIA
I would like to thank everyone who took part in the 2009 first annual Tesla
Days. I hope that it met all of your expectations and that you had a great time.
The dinner at Balkan Restaurant was a great opportunity to meet and the
restaurant was full the entire time.
The presentations at Independence Mall saw thousands of people and we were
able to give out information about Tesla and the club to all who were interested.
We met plenty of people interested in Tesla and learned some new things in the
process.
The Lectures at the Ethical Society were wonderful and we will look for a larger
venue next year. Our lecturers showed how knowledgeable and professional
they are.
The inventor's convention at Liberty Two went well. I hope that we will be able
to bring back that part of the program again soon with more participants, more
time to prepare and a bigger budget.
We have added some new members to the board, strengthening an already great
board and our work will be even more successful in the coming season.
We have received several offers and suggestions for further work and we have to
discuss them to see in which direction to move the club. I hope everyone can
get involved, especially those wwho want to work on some of the projects.
We plan on starting an internet radio station that will operate in three time
zones: Belgrade, Moscow and Philadelphia.
Also, we plan to open full time club meetinghouses in Philadelphia and
Belgrade. The Philadelphia club will have artwork and books (in all languages)
and we will add to the collection all year long and try to involve students from
local colleges. Members would be able to check out books. We would also like to
be able to show movies about Tesla and other inventors. Inventors would be
able to present their ideas as well.
We hope to also organize presentations for school assemblies.
Once per year, we would like to bring together the various groups that work
with inventions and Tesla.
In addition to the Tesla days which we will have each year, we also want to open
a summer camp in upstate NY before the Tesla days begin in 2010. The location
is really beautiful and would provide a chance for people to meet and bring their
families.
The next step might be to put together a video production starring Mark
Passio's speech and trying to get the word about Tesla out worldwide, even to
those who cannot make it to out events.
The idea of canonization received tremendous support and I was very happy to
see people of all different religions supporting the idea.
Together with the Nikola Tesla Museum, we plan to begin a traveling exhibit
which will go from city to city in North America, spreading the word about Tesla
and at the same time about our club.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in any of the above projects, please
contact me at nikolateslainventorasclub@gmail.com or at (484)955-0545.
Thank You,
Nikola Lonchar
